Webhook delivery delays

Identified — 14:02 UTC · A queue backlog is delaying webhook delivery by ~4 minutes. Fix rolling out now.

One-click status flips

Each component has a color-coded dropdown — operational, degraded, partial or major outage, maintenance. Flip it and your public page updates instantly.

Incident timelines

Open an incident, post updates as you investigate, identify and monitor, then resolve. Visitors see the whole story, newest update first, with UTC timestamps.

Honest by design

No fake green dots from a ping bot. You decide what's down and what's degraded, so your page says exactly what your team knows — nothing more, nothing less.

Worst-wins overall banner

The page headline is computed from your components: all green reads "All systems operational", one major outage turns the whole banner red. No mixed messages.

Auto-restore on resolve

When you resolve an incident, StatusBeacon offers to flip the affected components back to operational in the same click. No stale yellow dots at 2 a.m.

Page view analytics

See how many customers checked your page each day for the last 30 days — proof that one status URL really does calm an inbox during an outage.

How it works

1

Add your components

Create a page and list what customers care about — API, dashboard, webhooks, CDN. Share your /s/ link once and put it in your docs and footer.

2

Flip a status when things break

Something's on fire? Set the component to degraded or down and open an incident with a first update. The public page reflects it immediately.

3

Post updates until resolved

Move through investigating → identified → monitoring → resolved, one short message at a time. Resolving restores your components to green.

Frequently asked questions

Is monitoring automatic?

No — and that's deliberate. Automated pingers say "up" while your database is melting, and flap on every blip. StatusBeacon is manually operated: your page only says what you've actually confirmed, which is exactly why customers trust it. Flipping a status takes one click.

Can I use my own domain?

Not yet. Your page lives at a clean hextrot /s/ URL you can link from your site footer, docs and support replies. Custom domains are on our roadmap for Pro.

What counts as a component?

Anything customers experience as a separate thing that can break: your API, web app, webhooks, email delivery, CDN, a region. The free plan includes 3 components per page; Pro is unlimited.

Can I backdate incidents or updates?

No. Timestamps are recorded the moment you post, in UTC, and shown as-is. That keeps your incident history honest — which is the entire point of a status page.

What do visitors see on the free plan?

Everything that matters: live component statuses, the overall banner and your last 5 incidents with full update timelines, plus a small StatusBeacon badge. Pro removes the badge and shows 90 days of history.
