Frequently asked questions
Do my links ever expire?
No. Short links live as long as your account does — on the free plan and on Pro. You can pause a link any time with the active toggle, and reactivate it later without losing its click history.
What counts as a click?
Every time someone opens your short link and gets redirected, we record one click along with the timestamp, the referring page and the visitor's browser. Pausing a link stops both redirects and tracking.
How do custom aliases work?
On Pro you can replace the random 6-character code with your own slug, like /r/spring-sale. Aliases are first come, first served across SnipLink, and we automatically clean them into URL-safe lowercase.
Can I change a destination after I've shared the link?
Yes — that's one of the best reasons to use a short link. Pro users can edit a link's destination at any time, and everyone who clicks the existing snip is sent to the new URL instantly. The short link itself never changes.
